Gloucestershire 11+ Mock Exams

Preparing for the Gloucestershire 11+ is about more than learning the content. It is about performing well under exam conditions.

Many pupils complete practice papers confidently at home, yet find the real exam challenging because the experience itself is unfamiliar. Strict timing, formal instructions, answer sheets, and the atmosphere of a large exam hall can all affect performance.

Our Gloucestershire mock exams provide a realistic rehearsal of this experience. Pupils gain familiarity with the format, practise working under pressure, and develop the confidence needed to approach the real exam calmly and effectively.

This page supports families preparing for Gloucestershire grammar school entrance routes. Specific towns and venues, including locations such as Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury, are shown within the tabs on this page.

Practise Gloucestershire 11+ Timing, Pace and Exam Technique

Strong subject knowledge alone does not guarantee a strong result. Pupils must also manage their time effectively and maintain accuracy under pressure.

A realistic mock exam helps pupils practise:

  • working at a steady pace across timed sections
  • avoiding common mistakes caused by rushing
  • staying focused throughout the full sitting
  • following instructions accurately
  • maintaining confidence when questions feel unfamiliar

This experience helps pupils develop reliable exam technique, not just subject ability.

For many families, the first mock exam provides valuable insight into how their child performs under real conditions.

Authentic Gloucestershire Exam Simulation With Audio Instructions and Answer Sheets

Our mock exams are designed to reflect the real Gloucestershire exam experience as closely as possible.

Where relevant, this includes:

  • audio instructions delivered in the same style used in the real exam
  • separate answer sheets, allowing pupils to practise accurate recording
  • strict timing to develop realistic pacing
  • formal exam-hall environments
  • professional invigilation and structured procedures

These details are important because many marks can be lost through avoidable process mistakes rather than lack of knowledge.

By rehearsing these elements in advance, pupils gain confidence and familiarity with the full exam process.

Detailed Gloucestershire Mock Exam Results With Percentile Rankings

After the mock exam, families receive a detailed report designed to provide clear and useful insight.

This includes:

  • performance breakdown across sections
  • percentile ranking showing relative performance within the cohort
  • identification of strengths
  • priority areas for improvement

This helps families understand what the result means and how to focus preparation effectively.

Many parents find this clarity particularly valuable when planning next steps.

FAQs

How closely do your Gloucestershire mock exams match the real 11+?

When should my child sit their first Gloucestershire mock exam?

What will the results report actually tell us?

My child gets nervous in exams. Will a mock exam help?

Is one Gloucestershire 11+ mock exam enough?

We don’t live in Cheltenham, Gloucester or Tewkesbury. Can we still attend?

We know that parents may not always be familiar with all the question types, so we also send PDF’s copies of the verbal reasoning and non verbal reasoning style questions tested, with examples and practice questions for every test alongside practice questions related to any weaker topics in maths.

Between exams you can purchase weekly practice material, mini progress tests and feedback via seesaw (online) to build students understanding and confidence of weaker topics between exams. We also have a range of practice books and resources available, please contact us to arrange how to purchase.

Please note: Hard copies of mock exams are not made available to parents to avoid copyright infringements and to protect the integrity of each test paper. Online test papers are available to purchase and review incorrect answers.
